ACUD stands for "Administrative Capital for Urban Development". It is an Egyptian enterprise formed in 2016 and is devoted to developing a national mega-project located south-east Cairo called "The New Administrative Capital". The new city is meant to serve mainly as a business and administrative center, yet it also includes a residential zone along with many facilities and services as well.
I was asked to design a logo for ACUD, reflecting its business nature and highlighting its contribution to such a wide-scale national project. The color palette was deliberately limited to the three colors of the Egyptian flag (red, white, and black) in order to stimulate a feeling of nationalism, which is a major feature of the project.
I came up with several logo ideas for ACUD; showcased below were the two most successful options:
